What we collect, and what we don't
The short version: if you subscribe, we keep your email address so we can send the newsletter. We don't sell it, we don't run ad trackers, and you can unsubscribe from any email.
If you subscribe to the newsletter
When you sign up, we collect your email address and the mrkts page you signed up from. That's all we ask for. We use it only to send you the newsletter and to understand which pages bring in readers.
Our newsletter is sent through Buttondown, an email provider that stores the subscriber list for us. Buttondown handles your email under its own privacy policy, and like most email providers it may record whether an email was delivered, opened, or clicked.
Unsubscribing
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click takes you off the list. You can also ask us to delete your email address entirely by writing to hello@mrkts.gg.
Reading the site
You don't need an account to read mrkts, and we don't run advertising trackers or third-party analytics scripts. Like every website, our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, to run and protect the service.
If you switch between the light and dark theme, your browser remembers your choice in its own local storage. That stays on your device and isn't sent to us.
Partner links
Some links to brokers and tools go through an address that starts with mrkts.gg/go/ and then forward you to the partner's site. We don't set a cookie when you click one. Once you arrive, the partner may set its own cookies, for example to credit us with a referral, under its own privacy policy. Our Disclosures page explains how these links pay us.
What we don't do
- We don't sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
- We don't share your email with brokers or partners.
- We don't ask for your brokerage accounts, positions, or payment details.
Children
mrkts is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Big changes will also be announced in the newsletter.
